FAQs
Does HERITG upload my family tree?
Not by default. Signing in alone does not upload your family tree. If you activate Family+ and explicitly enable synchronization, HERITG uploads a client-encrypted snapshot and stores server-managed encrypted key recovery data. Your local copy remains available.
Can I use the app without the internet?
Yes. Core family-tree features, imports, and exports work without a network connection.
Is every export encrypted?
Every current .heritg backup uses the encrypted envelope, with an optional password. GEDCOM, PNG, and SVG exports remain readable files.
